November 1987 to December 2002
When you came to us from an animal rescue centre, little did we know what joy you would bring into our lives.
Although you chewed everything in the kitchen and kept us awake at night with crying, we loved you.
Pip joined the family eighteen months after you arrived and you became firm friends.
You let her be 'the boss', but you looked out for her all the time and taught her everything we had taught you.
You were a real mother figure to her.
Sadly, we lost Pip in March and we knew that you would miss her as much as we did. Soon afterwards, we noticed
a change in you. You became distant towards us, but we understood as you had lost your best friend.
However, you began to cough and the vet diagnosed asthma and heart disease.
You would be on tablets for the rest of your life. Unfortunately, it proved to be a short life after that.
The asthma returned twice, but we got you through it, with love, patience and understanding.
You still gave us love and we couldn't imagine life without you.
However, we knew we had to make another
heart-rending decision, which we did not take lightly. We still imagine that we can hear your tags jingling and
think you are behind us waiting for your favourite treats. We love and miss you, but know that you have been
reunited with Pip to play the games you always loved.
Sleep tight, God bless.
