I recently had to put my beautiful Molly to sleep. It was one of the most difficult decisions I have ever had to make. I rescued Molly from a local animal shelter after I lost my beloved Allie (she has her own star). Molly was very abused and in bad shape when I saw her in the kennel. She had such a sweet face, I couldn't resist her. She was full of ticks and was very thin. When I was told I could pick her up, I brought her home and gave her a bath. Her beautiful black coat just shined. I got all of the remaining ticks off of her, and let her eat to her hearts content.
As the years passed, we moved to another home with a fenced in back yard. Molly loved to chase the squirrels and rabbits that came into the yard. She was very quick - to the point the rabbits stopped coming in the yard. The squirrels would sit up in our huge maple tree in the back yard. Molly would sit under that tree for hours just waiting and hoping one would come down.
I am so grateful for the time I got to spend with her. Even though she was never a replacement for the dog I lost, she was and will always have a special place in my heart. I gave her as much love as I could possibly give.
Molly - please know that I loved you with all my heart. I will always love you and can't wait to see you again. I know you are chasing squirrels and rabbits and getting plenty of play time. It's so hard to be at home without you. Your memory fills every room. I love you my baby girl - Mom
