Sally: 1996 to 15 March 2006
After Ineke had carried out a few months of research she decided she would like to have a King Charles Cavalier Spaniel to be company for Sunny so in January 2002 we went to a breeder to pick up Sally (we decided it would not be fair to her to change her name). She is a 6-year old tri-colour and has had 3 litters. She is extremely quiet but straight away has "taken" to Ineke.
Today 17 December 2005 Ineke has just arrived back from taking Sally to the vet
(she has had a slight cough for 2 days but this morning her breathing is laboured).
On arriving home Ineke has just told me that it is not good news as Sally has a heart
problem and that the maximum time we can expect to have her is 12 months. This has upset both
Ineke and I as we are only just coming to terms with loosing Sunny
Saturday, 17 December 2005.
Ineke took Sally to the vet as her breathing had become much laboured
over the last 36 hours and at first we thought she had a cold. The vet
also thought she may have had a cold until he listened to her chest only to find that she had
fluid around the heart. He has given her medication and wants to see her next Friday. He said
if that medication had not started to work by then he did have another type he could try.
He also said that at the most we would have Sally for another 12 months.

For the last 10-days Sally has been hiding behind my chair for most of the
day and today Sally is worse than she has been and is have trouble even standing
so Ineke and I have decided that it is time to let her go in peace. At 2.15 pm Sally was put to sleep.
