Less than an hour ago I held my tiny little Cocoa in my arms and allowed the vet to give her over to God. As so many others, I cannot begin to express my anguish. But I know she's no longer in pain, and that she can be with my mother, who she loved as much as me. I only pray now that I can somehow console my children and help them heal.

She was our baby girl, a tiny chihuahua who only had two and a half years of life. But during her brief stay with us she touched us all, and her brave spirit will live on in our hearts forever.

I love you, Cocoa, and someday I'll hold you again, and you'll feel good enough then to nibble my ears and play again. Be well in Heaven, and thank you, God, for giving her a warm welcome home.
