Susie Marie

My little Susie Marie was a very special girl. She came to me in 1987, right after I lost my 17 year old Lani Kai. She needed someone to love her and I needed someone to love me. You might say we needed each other. After almost 12 years, I lost my Susie girl in September of 1998. She was a small shepherd mix, very indpendent and with a mind of her own. She loved children and was famous for giving "baby kisses" to newborns!

A year before Susie passed away, I got her a sister, a minature doxie named Pennie Ann, who loved Susie as much as I did and helped me get through my loss. A day doesn't go by that I don't think of Susie, and the love she brought into my life and the life of others.

I still have her pictures up in my home and at work, and every morning I still say good morning to my special girl. I know Susie's up in heaven, and hopefully, she's found Lani Kai by now and the two are comparing notes about what it was like to live here with me. I sure hope I lived up to both their expectations.
