There was a puppy names Patches who lived in my back yard. He ran and he played and made me happy all day. He chanced the little birds away.

The puppy Patches had hair of silver and gold as all good collies do. He saw me thru the bad and good and then helped my children grow.

The puppy Patches was big and strong and by hanging to his ears Shelley and Roy did learn to walk. To Follow them and guard their play, Oh how it made his day.

For 18 years in my yard he played. For about as long he has been gone. But in my hart and in my mind I sing his song. There was a puppy named Patches who lived in my back yard.
